Sometimes we may find that we are caught up in the typical distracting demands of life. We may be working long hours at an unsatisfying job in order to support our family, and we may be too tired to spend quality time with our loved ones. Or, we may be involved in other seemingly important pursuits, yet we are unable to find peace and happiness. Perhaps we need to pause and evaluate our personal desires, interests and priorities. By devoting a substantial amount of our time and energy everyday to the people we love and the interests that are most important to us, we will find that life is infinitely more meaningful and rewarding.
I’m a single father with four children. Like many families, we've faced some challenges in life. Over the past past few years, I have often found myself sitting at my piano late at night, spontaneously playing music that seemed to resonate with the emotions in my heart. Sometimes, I felt happy. Sometimes, I felt sad. At other times, the music was a reflection of joy and gratitude. Often, I found that my heart was carried far away to the shores of Ireland, the land of my heritage. Ultimately, I created a number of personal musical compositions, which I have compiled to produce an instrumental CD entitled “Keeper of the Lighthouse.”
The title "Keeper of the Lighthouse" has a special meaning to me. As my children face their own challenges, I imagine them out on the waves of the sea, being tossed and turned by the storms of life, and I know that I need to remain firm, maintaining our home and our faith, providing my children with guidance and a proper example, so that they can always see the light that will guide them back to the security of the shore. In this sense, I am the keeper of our family lighthouse. Perhaps you are the keeper of your own lighthouse. May this music help to bring you peace to calm the storms of life, and may you and your loved ones have a safe journey, until we all arrive at our final destination.
